Homemade French Patisserie
I am Maria Clara Mena. I was born in Colombia, and as one can imagine, I grew up surrounded by a great variety of fruits, vegetables, spices. My parents owned a flower business and my every day was filled with the colorful scents of flowers. Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to become a bakery chef, and like my family did through their business, share with the world, that which I love the most: baking.
As life is not generally a straight path, in 2008, I moved to France to study a Master, and I lived there for 11 years. Although I was not living my childhood dream in my daily job, being in France was a true gift. I was spoiled by the mere fact of being exposed to French patisserie, it’s depth and richness, and being able to experience it first-hand. Whenever I could, I would seek to explore new chefs, recipes and flavors.
In 2019, my family and I moved to the Netherlands for work. It was here, that I started studying to become a bakery chef and decided that it was time to make my childhood dream a reality.
In July 2022 I funded French Bakery in the city of Amstelveen, where I currently live.

French Bakery is an online bakery shop located in Amstelveen.
I love mixing my exotic Colombian roots and background with the French “savoir faire”, elegance and taste, experimenting and creating different flavor combinations.
I give a lot of importance to the quality of the ingredients used as well as their freshness. This is why, I handpick all ingredients that go into my recipes. I never use artificial flavors, colorings nor additives. My pastries are available to order so that they can be made and decorated from scratch. Some of my creations are decorated with natural, edible flowers to bring you a complete sensorial experience in the most natural way.

How to order our products?
Please reserve 48h in advance. For big orders or catering, please reserve at least 2 weeks before.
It is possible that some days are completely full before this timing, so if you have a date in mind, it will be better to reserve in advance. Dates in grey below are not available.
